Like any Lutheran church, our social activities tend to revolve around food! After worship every Sunday we gather for coffee and treats during 11th hour. Wednesday Night Live starts off our evening with a family dinner at 5:30pm. We also gather together for food and fellowship throughout the year at our annual spring picnic, Easter breakfast, VBS Cookout, Sunday School rally day potluck, Reformation Sunday potluck, & our annual holiday dinner.

Our circle of prayer list provides a list of members and friends requesting prayers. Call Karen in the church office to be added to the list.

Stephens Ministry is a peer to peer help group for those who might need someone to talk to on an ongoing basis. Please talk with Pastor Bill to arrange a Stephens Minister if you have such a need.

A wide variety of social groups are available at St. Matthias. Participating in one of these is an easy way to get to know other congregational members. All are invited to participate. Call the church office for more information and meeting times.

Dorcas Circle
This women's group gathers once a month in the fellowship hall for a luncheon meeting. Most of the women who participate are non-working or retirees. Each month hostestess(es) provide the table settings, decorations and provide coffee and dessert. Members normally bring their own sandwich or salad. After fellowship over lunch, a short business meeting & program is held. Programs might be a video, guest speaker or bible study.

An offering is taken at each meeting, which is used to support delegates to conferences, support the National Women of ELCA, and support the Florida-Bahamas Synodical Women's Organization. Dorcas Circle works in conjunction with the Quilters Guild to support Lutheran World Relief with quilts and book bags.

Lydia Circle
This women's group meets in the evening once a month, providing fellowship for women who work during the day. Each month a hostess coordinates the meeting, which may be an evening out at a local restaurant, an educational opportunity, topical discussions, game night, or work on an outreach ministry project. This group assembles health kits for Lutheran World Relief and sponsors an "Angel Tree" at Christmas to support gifts for a local boys home, halfway houses in Pinellas, and/or a Haven sponsored single parent family.

Young At Heart
Young at Heart consists mostly of retirees, but anyone is welcome to attend. The group meets once a month on a Saturday for either a meal and program in the fellowship hall or an outing to a local restaurant, entertainment venue or social activity.

Mylams
Mylams is the social group for the older generation of adults. The group meets monthly at the home of one of the members. The hosts provide a main course, with everyone else in attendance providing appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Some months, the Mylams and Young & combine forces and have joint social activities.

Young & Restless
This social group is for the younger generation of adults. The group meets every few months at the home of one of the members. The hosts provide a main course, with everyone else in attendance providing appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Some months, the Mylams and Young & combine forces and have joint social activities.

Pinochle
Pinochle card players gather once a month at the home of one of the members for some friendly games. You do not have to know the game to join the group. They will be happy to teach you!
